About Tesomas Scout Camp
Tesomas Scout Camp is located approximately 10 miles from Rhinelander, in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Since 1935, Tesomas has been providing an outdoor program second to none. With approximately 900 acres, Tesomas prides itself on a commitment to excellence and the best customer service anywhere. Frequently Asked Questions
When are payments due?
- The first $100 for each camper is his/her deposit and is nonrefundable, but transferable to another camper in the same unit as a new registration. This fee is paid upon registering a Scout or Leader to attend camp. For example, if you register campers on March 15 the deposits per camper will be due. Campers registered after April 15 may be subject to a $25 late fee (excluding new Scouts).
- Remaining fees are due June 1.
What are meals like at summer camp?
All meals are designed for proper nutrition requirements by a registered dieticians. If you have any food allergies, be sure to fill out a diet request form from our website.
- Breakfast is often items such as pancakes, cereal, eggs, sausage links, fruit, etc.
- Lunch is typically items such as sandwiches, pizza, chicken strips, etc. served with various sides such as mac n cheese, fruit salad, veggie sticks, etc.
- Dinner normally consists of items such as chicken, hamburgers, pasta, etc. served with sides such as salad, green beans, potatoes, rolls, etc. and a dessert!
- There is a salad bar available at dinner with salad fixings, and generally another side or two.
What if my child needs financial assistance?
A campership is a scholarship to attend camp. Samoset Council is proud to be able to help those who may not be able to afford the cost. Requests should be made using the applications below. All information will be kept confidential.
What are swim tests and what can we expect?
All persons participating in aquatic activities are classified according to swimming ability. The swim tests have been developed and structured to demonstrate a skill level consistent with the individual’s circumstances in the water. You will complete a swim tests at summer camp.
Types of swim tests:
- Non-swimmer: get in the water, splash around and cool off (this is optional).
- Beginners: swim 50 feet, including one sharp turn and submerging completely underwater.
- Swimmers: swim 75 yards, unbroken, with a strong forward stroke, swim 25 yards in a resting backstroke, and then float in the water for several seconds.
