About Samoset Scouting
The Samoset Council has a strong tradition as one of the Nation’s premier Scout Councils. Since 1910, Scouting America has instilled timeless values of character, citizenship and leadership in each young person who has entered the Scouting program. The Samoset Council continues this tradition through educational based skills and activities.
Scouting invites every youth to a safe, fun place to learn, explore, and grow. The Scouting experience is divided into five programs according to age and activities. Discover what programs are available to your scouts by selecting their age:
- Cub Scouting – Boys and Girls Grades K – 5
- Scouts BSA – Youth Ages 11-17
- Venturing – Coed Ages 14-20
- Sea Scouts – Coed Ages 14-20
- Exploring – Coed Ages 14-20
Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, derby car race, or hike on the trail, we believe every adventure helps us uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundations for humility and compassion—strengthening character through actions—to prepare youth for a lifetime of leadership.
With programs for young men and women, Scouting helps meet these six essential needs of the young people growing up in our society:
- Mentoring
- Lifelong Learning
- Faith Traditions
- Serving Others
- Healthy Living
- Building Character
The Wausau Homes Scout Center provides administrative and program space for Samoset Scouting. This facility was made possible by the generous donation of Marv and Ruth Schuette on behalf of the employees and builders of Wausau Homes.
